The Ippy Dippy was created by teacher and administrator, Seamus O'Hara, M.Ed.  After teaching  for 10 years, Seamus became a school principal because he felt teachers were often mistreated by leadership.  Seamus thought he could better serve teachers.

During his time in administration, he became involved with a podcast that awarded continuing education hours to medical professionals through listening.  Seeing that this was a natural way for professionals to learn on their own and keep their license current, he adapted the model for teachers and now looks to empower teachers in innovative ways.

Seamus has taught science to grades Pre-K through 12 and has been a principal of grades Pre-K through 12.  His favorite thing to do is empower teachers to love their careers.

Real Examples

Jameson:  Insight

Jameson was a school admin trying to understand the professional development needs of his staff.  There was a staff development day in 5 weeks and his superintendent was asking for plans and justification for those plans.  With The Ippy Dippy Jameson was able to aggregate what district teachers sought for self-development.  That information allowed Jameson to highlight the inherent needs of instructional staff and present evidence of the need with reports from The Ippy Dippy based off of staff search trends.  The Ippy Dippy can generate reports for your schools and districts to gain insight into what your teachers do when self-learning.
