What We Do
The team behind The Ippy Dippy is made up of real educators and lifelong learners. We build tools for the way people actually learn—inside classrooms, beyond schools, and across a lifetime.
Today, educators and students alike engage every day with videos, podcasts, articles, books, and other media to grow their knowledge and skills. Much of this learning is meaningful, but rarely captured, validated, or recognized. That’s where The Ippy Dippy comes in.
Our educator-led team curates high-quality learning content and provides a framework to verify engagement with approved books, articles, podcasts, videos, and experiences. Learning—whether formal or informal—can be documented and carried forward in a single, transparent record. Our curated library continues to expand daily.

Seamus O'Hara, M.Ed
Founder and CEO
The Ippy Dippy was created by teacher, administrator, and licensed superintendent Seamus O'Hara, M.Ed. After teaching for 10 years, Seamus became a school principal because he felt leadership often overlooked the needs of teachers. Determined to create a better environment, he stepped into administration with the goal of serving and supporting educators in meaningful ways. During his time as a principal, Seamus became involved with a podcast that awarded continuing education hours to medical professionals through listening. Recognizing this as a natural way for professionals to learn independently while maintaining their credentials, he adapted the model for teachers. This innovation led to the creation of The Ippy Dippy, a platform designed to empower educators by turning everyday learning—such as listening to podcasts, watching educational videos, and reading articles—into certified professional development hours. Seamus has extensive experience facilitating professional development for educators, having spent years leading Local Professional Development Committees (LPDCs) and supporting teachers in their growth. As a designated signer for licensure renewal, he has firsthand knowledge of the challenges teachers face in maintaining their credentials. This role has fueled his passion for streamlining the professional development process and ensuring that teachers receive recognition for the learning they do outside of traditional workshops and conferences. Beyond his career in education, Seamus spent four years as a stand-up comedian in New York City, where he honed his ability to connect with audiences, think on his feet, and bring humor into even the most challenging situations. His experience in comedy not only strengthened his public speaking and leadership skills but also reinforced his belief in the importance of engagement, relatability, and joy in learning. He brings this same energy and passion to his work with teachers, striving to make professional development more engaging, relevant, and accessible. Seamus has taught science to grades Pre-K through 12 and has been a principal for students across the same grade levels. His favorite thing to do is empower teachers to love their careers, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and continuously inspired in their profession.

Our Why
-
Education has evolved in the 21st century, yet organic learning remains largely unrecognized.
-
Lifelong learners naturally seek out knowledge through platforms like YouTube when they need information, often choosing real-world, on-demand learning over formal coursework.
-
Traditional systems have yet to fully adapt to this shift, missing opportunities to meet learners where they are as they engage with content in meaningful and organic ways.
-
A standardized, universal system to provide a comprehensive snapshot of an individual’s learning journey has been missing—until now.
-
For the first time, a platform is bridging the gap by integrating micro-learning, university education, supplemental learning, and mandatory training into one seamless experience.
